Police Log: Suspicious Shutterbug Reported

Suspicious Shutterbug Reported

7:19 a.m.—A resident called police to report a white male wearing a red baseball cap and driving a black pick-up truck had taken a picture of her 12-year-old daughter while she waited for the school bus at Salem Street and Eaton Road. The vehicle was last seen heading towards the Route 129 rotary. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle and notified Wakefield Police. A message was sent out to residents via the Everbridge notification system at 4 p.m.

8:23 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a couple sleeping in a red SUV at Sturges Park on Pine Ridge Road. Officers determined the couple was homeless and they were sent on their way.

10:34 a.m.—Employees of Golf Town on Walker’s Brook Drive reported a past larceny that occurred on Feb. 14.

11:19 a.m.—A report of a suspicious person sitting in a grey SUV at Arthur B. Lord Drive and Forest Street brought officers to the scene, where they discovered a resident who was holding an open house at his property and was staking out the scene to see how many people came. No issues were found.

2:25 p.m.—An employee of EMARC sought advice from police regarding an EMARC member possibly removing items from personal property.

2:47 p.m.—A Hartshorn Street resident reported a past hit and run, which reportedly occurred on Feb. 8, in the parking lot of Reading High.

3:30 p.m.—A North Reading resident reported a blue Volkswagen operating erratically near Main Street and Elderberry Drive. The vehicle was last seen headed towards North Reading and NRPD was notified.

8:33 p.m.—A South Street resident called police to complain about bright lights and loud noises coming from a construction site on Jacob Way. Officers investigated and discovered the construction company—Lynch Construction—was attempting to fix a broken piece of equipment. They were advised of the complaint and agreed to knock off for the night.

9:17 p.m.—Police responded to Burbank Arena for a report of youths who had been kicked out of a hockey game (Reading vs. BC High) congregating outside the arena. Officers responded but could not locate the youths.
