Borrowing Downloadable eBooks From the Library
If you received a new ereader or tablet over the holidays and want to take advantage of Merrimack Valley Library Consortium’s (MVLC) ebooks, look for the OverDrive icon on the front page of the library website. With a valid library card, through OverDrive, you can borrow up to 5 books at once and set your own checkout parameters of seven, 14, or 21 days.
OverDrive's "MyHelp" section provides instructions for how to download ebooks on a variety of devices, including the Kindle, Nook, iPad, and Smartphone. You can search “available titles only,” but if the book you want isn’t available, you can place a hold. Title suggestions are welcome and encouraged.
Look for OverDrive Advantage which makes extra copies of selected popular titles available to North Reading library users only.
Get a Boston Public Library card online and you can expand your choice of ebooks through BPL’s OverDrive site. All Massachusetts residents are eligible to receive a BPL card.
OverDrive also offers downloadable audiobooks.

This is great! I recommend to anyone (regardless of their computer skills) to take a look at at an e-reader device. They are amazing, and with a little instruction, quite easy to use. It is really nice to have a library of books, music, and a web browser all in one device. There are a number of other quality tablets on the market as well. It is a good Idea to read some reviews to see what is out there. http://hudsonmonk.com has some good write ups.

Once they finally got around to supporting Kindle, I've been a steady customer. This is a great service and a tremendous addition to our library's portfolio of services.
